Effie was diagnosed with pre B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma in March 2019 at the age of 10.  Her treatment plan was 2 ½ years long and consisted of 7 different chemo meds, frequent spinal taps and many hospital stays at Lurie Children’s in Chicago.  She finally rang the bell signaling the end of treatment on September 27th, 2021.  Our journey was difficult and challenging at times to say the least, but also taught us about perspective and positivity.  

 

During treatment, Effie met so many friends and had so much support from Lurie’s, individuals and organizations that left an indelible mark.  Her goal is to give back and help those kids that are currently hospitalized or still battling.
